TASKS:
- Assist our System Administration Manager in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our IT infrastructure (servers, networks, databases)
- Participate in monitoring and troubleshooting technical incidents to ensure continuity and quality of services offered to our clients
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of backup, security, and data recovery procedures
- Collaborate with development and support teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance
- Assist with technical documentation and training of internal users on best practices and system administration procedures
- Participate in infrastructure development and migration projects in close collaboration with the System Administration Manager
- Ensure the smooth operation of the production environment composed of shared, dedicated, and virtualized web hosting servers.
- Optimizing web server performance, researching/suggesting parameter improvements in line with new industry trends.
- Perform regular audits of Apache/Litespeed server performance, MySQL / MariaDB databases, mail (Exim), DNS (Bind).
- Handle customer requests through our ticketing system, chat, or phone.
- Configure, optimize, and deploy new dedicated and virtualized systems according to specific company or customer requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent mastery of the cPanel / WHM management system
- Good knowledge of virtualization platforms VMware, Xen, and KVM
- Experience managing Linux servers via command line (SSH)
- Excellent communication and the ability to explain a problem (or solution) to an audience with less technical knowledge.
- Good knowledge of email systems and protocols (POP / IMAP / SMTP), and mail servers (Exim, Dovecot, Courier)
- Excellent knowledge of DNS web concepts and IPv4
- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB database management systems
- Basic knowledge of Linux programming languages (PHP)
DESIRED PROFILE:
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a system administration, technical support, or similar role
- Curiosity, rigor, and motivation to develop technical skills and grow within the company
- Sense of organization and priorities to effectively manage tasks and projects in parallel
- Attention to detail and customer satisfaction to provide high-quality services
- At least one year of experience as a system administrator
